We have two adult sessions of studying the Word of God. We focus especially on how we may apply the Word in our lives. We study so we may be open to God's Spirit working in us and transforming us to be the persons God has called us to be. We gather on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m and study till 11:00 a.m. We recognize that some are unable to drive at night and this is especially for those who for whatever reason cannot come out at night. That may be because of work schedule of visual issues or neighborhood issues. We do not ask questions as to why you are coming during the day time.
We also meet at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday and study till 7:00 p.m. We cover the same material both at 10:00 a.m. and at 6:00 p.m. and so if your work schedule prevents you from coming in the morning you can join us in the evening. And if you work in the evening you can join us in the morning.
Both are open to all members of the community and not restricted to members of Newman U.M.C.
We are presently having discussions about "Baptism." We are asking interesting questions like at what age should a person be baptized? What mode of baptism is most effective? Should it be in a river or not? Why did Jesus tell his disciples to "Go ... and baptize?"
Come join us and grow in the Lord.
